Project Summary:

A Caesarean delivery case of a woman whose husband is a gardener and has financial constraints in getting the medical and surgical procedure done.

Beneficiary Data:

CNIC: 35201-20xxxx3-3
Date of Reg: 21 Oct 2019.

Project Objective:

To fund the patient's medical treatment.

Project Status:

  • C-Section carried out on 22nd Jan 2020. Patient in ICU and baby girl in incubator (premature).
  • Patient has some problem with the urinary bladder and has to undergo another surgery.
  • Second surgery done on 27th Jan 2020.
  • Patient shifted from ICU back to ward. Baby had congenital pneumonia but is OK now.
  • 30-Jan-2020: This was the patient's 5th C-Section surgery. Multiple repeat cesarean deliveries have the risk of bladder injuries. The increased risk is likely due to bands of scar-like tissue (adhesions) that develop after a previous C-section, binding the bladder to the uterus. This was the case in this surgery as well. Her bladder/ureter suffered injuries that became the cause of her prolonged stay in ICU and further surgeries for repair. Hysterectomy was also carried out. Nephrostomy done. She will be discharged with this condition and has to report back after 6 weeks for evaluation of repair and removal of catheter.
  • Its a urology case now. Baby is ok.
  • 31-Jan-2020: Patient discharged. Followup on 4th Feb.
  • 04-Feb-2020: Patient condition OK. Next Followup after 2 weeks.
  • 15-Feb-2020: Drains removed. Final procedure expected after 2 weeks. Condition improving.
  • 02-Mar-2020: Catheter removed. Called for follow up after 2 weeks regarding nephrostomy.
  • 14-Mar-2020: Follow up done. Surgery planned on 16th March.
  • 16-Mar-2020: Surgery carried out on 16th March.
  • 20-Mar-2020: The patient is stable. Next step is removal of DJ stent in the ureter once its healed.
  • 26-June-2020: DJ stent removed at Hijaz Hospital. Patient relieved from all procedures now. Case completed.
